The smell of change is in the air, and the long days of summer are gone! The fall equinox is upon us. With the arrival of fall means so many things: pumpkins, shorter days, cooler nights, cozy fires, warmer colors, apple cider, hayrides, and the start of the holiday season.

Fall is the time of year when we start to focus on slowing down, the last harvest, and gratitude. As we say goodbye to Summer, we think about what we have achieved throughout the season and how it will support us over the next few months. This is a time to self-reflect and prepare for a transition. The fall equinox takes place Thursday, September 22. The sun will shift into the cardinal air sign of Libra the same day bringing the need for balance, unity, and socialization to the cosmos. This might be an ideal time to prioritize bonds with other people, but the spiritual meaning of the fall equinox is all about learning how to find the balance between your own identity and the identity of those around you.

Here at Bee’s Knees Crystals, these are our favorite fall crystals.

Obsidian: A dark, moody stone that is excellent for clearing, cord-cutting, scrying, and shadow work. As you turn inward and the days get shorter, obsidian can support you in looking at some of the darker aspects of the season.

Labradorite: Like a candle flame or fire, offering sparks of insight, light, and intuition. Labradorite is a great stone for transition, transformation, and building our awareness and psychic senses.

Smoky Quartz: A stone of grounding and transmutation. Its dark smoky look gave it its name and its looks alone make it perfect for fall and Halloween. A stone that is dark, mysterious, deep…and strangely inviting. Have smoky quartz around to help bring you more deeply into the season, and honestly into yourself.

Crystal Skulls: Crystal Skulls? Yup, you heard right. Hear me out! Crystal skulls of any material are perfect for fall. While they remind us first of Halloween, they have a much different meaning. Initially, when some people think of crystal skulls, they relate them to evil, negativity, fear, and death but it’s not the case. Instead, crystal skulls are representatives of the incredible power and wisdom of the human skull and brain. They are excellent tools to use when connecting to our ancestors and those who have gone before us.

So, as we let summer go and welcome fall, remember to celebrate letting go and enjoy the simple things in life.
